Summertime!

Wow...I've kind of let my blogging fall by the wayside...oops! Anyway, there is again so much to say! First of all, let me just say that this summer so far has gone by really quickly! After school got out, I led the music and skits for Vacation Bible School at my church, what fun! The kids were awesome and really fun. Special mention to Karen and Michon for all of their hard work. This was the first year that Chris wasn't at VBS and she was definitely missed. I thought about her so much that week. Here's a VBS picture:

After VBS, I kept busy organizing a kids circus and talent show for my Relay for Life team. I performed and was the mistress of ceremonies. I had a ton of help from my amazing friends Hope and Mark as well as my entire Relay team. This year's circus was the 8th annual performance and it was tons of fun. I've done it for 4 years now. This year was very different because just before the circus, my good friend and my Relay team leader lost her sister to cancer. She was not able to help with the circus, so everyone on the team faced a bit more responsibility. But overall, it was a really fun experience! Here's a circus picture:

After the circus, on July 10th I cut 12 inches off my hair for locks of love! It's really different having short hair. I like it, but it's different. Here's a picture:

Two days after my big hair cut, I went on a mission trip to Cass Lake, Minnesota. It was an amazing and really rewarding experience. I scraped paint off of a house, painted a bathroom, ran a day care for kids, and weeded a community garden. I know it sounds like a lot of work, but we had a good time! We told stories and sang songs while we worked. I also built the foundation for some long lasting friendships with the people I was with. I will certainly blog more about the trip. Thanks to everyone who was on the trip and also to the staff at the site! Here's a picture of everyone who was there:

This week, I will be starting a four week long theatre camp! It should be awesome! I will also write more about that.

On Friday is the Relay for Life and I will be singing the national anthem! I am really excited and kind of nervous about singing in front of all those people. I will be sure to blog once that happens.

That's all for now!
